Job summary

Omega Day Centers in Chantilly, VA seeks a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals with disabilities through person-centered support. You will help clients build independence, plan meaningful activities, and participate in community activities.

Applicants should be compassionate, reliable, and patient, with a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel within the community. Training in documentation systems is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of relevant work or life experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable personal transportation with current auto insurance.
• Ability to travel within the community.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screenings and drug screening.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support based on each individual's goals, preferences, abilities, and needs.
• Help individuals develop daily living and life skills and encourage independence.
• Accompany individuals on community outings and help build social connections.
• Plan and facilitate engaging activities and adapt them to interests and abilities.
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and collaborate with families and the support team.
