Job summary

Youth Consultation Service (YCS) is seeking a dedicated individual for a role at Townsbury Spec, a residential facility for behavioral-challenged children in Great Meadows, New Jersey. You'll supervise recreational activities and engage with youth according to their behavior plans, maintaining a clean and safe environment. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience in a behavioral setting are preferred.

This position requires flexible evening hours, particularly from 3pm to 11pm on weekdays and weekends. YCS has been a leader in caring for at-risk youth since 1918, offering various social services.

Qualifications

• 1+ years working with youth in a behavioral group setting.
• Valid driver's license required.

Job description

Townsbury Spec is a residential facility for behavioral‑challenged children.

We are seeking flexible days and hours, but our primary need is the hours/shift from 3 pm‑11 pm (Monday through Friday or on the weekends).

Duties

• Supervise, organize, and support recreational and/or socialization activities
• Play an active role in leading the milieu staff through youth’s structured routine while collaborating with youth’s case manager, clinician, and prescriber
• Engage and interact with youth based on behavioral intervention plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment
• Observe, document, and acknowledge positive behaviors
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor level degree in a related social service field (Psychology, Sociology, Education, Public Health, etc.), Psychology preferred. Preference to those interested in enrolling in an MSW program, to achieve growth within the agency.

1 year or more with a high school diploma working with youth in a behavioral group setting.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Schedule: Weekends 3 pm‑11 pm or Per Diem/On‑Call
