Job summary

YAI seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with disabilities at START Center in Kingston, NY. The role involves supervision, behavioral support, and facilitating daily activities within person-centered plans.

Qualifications include minimum 18 years old, strong communication and safety skills, and willingness to obtain required certifications within 1 year. Multiple schedules offered, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to meet physical demands including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds and assisting with mobility.
• Excellent written and oral communication for billing and records.
• Enthusiasm for working with people with I/DD and compassionate approach.
• Ability to assist with a variety of ADLs and exposure to bodily fluids.
• Basic computer skills for Workday/DA and related systems.
• SCIP-R within 1 year; additional program-specific certifications within 1 year.
• Must obtain/maintain required certifications (AMAP, CPR, etc.) within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, care and emotional support to individuals at all times.
• Support personal goals and facilitate community activities.
• Maintain safety, incident reporting and adherence to program guidelines.
• Document services and progress in appropriate records and logs.
• Implement behavior support plans under BIS direction.
• Participate in team meetings and communicate program needs.
