Merakey seeks a Direct Support Professional Specialized/Dual Diagnosis (DSP) for our program in Cresson, PA. You will support individuals with IDD and co-occurring conditions, using mentoring and coaching to help them reach their highest potential.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, is at least 21, holds a valid driver's license, and 1–3 years of relevant experience. NADD DSP certification training during the first year is preferred.

Qualifications

• Verifiable high school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• 1–3 years working with people with developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring mental health issues are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with IDD and co-occurring conditions, using counseling, mentoring, coaching, modeling and other strategies to enhance quality of life.
• Assist individuals in reaching their highest potential within a team-based care approach.

The Direct Care Professional (DSP) Specialized is responsible for supporting and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). A DSP Specialized should use counseling, mentoring, coaching, modeling, and other trained strategies to assist individuals in reaching their highest potential.This role will support individuals with IDD, signs and symptoms of serious mental illness, Autism and/or medical conditions which some could be the underlying causes of behavior.
