Job summary

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our program in Pemberton, NJ. The role supports individuals with daily living activities and independence, under supervision. No experience is required as paid training is provided to new hires.

Shift: Tue, Wed, Fri and Sat 12a-8a; pay rate $19.13/hour with optional enhanced pay up to $17.61/hour. We value dedication and offer a path to meaningful community support work.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
• A valid drivers license is required
• 1 year experience working with people with developmental disabilities
• Dual Diagnosis experience is preferred
• NADD DSP Certification training within first year of employment

Responsibilities

• Be part of Merakey’s team and support individuals with daily living activities.
• Mentor, coach, and encourage residents to reach personal goals.
• Assist with housekeeping and laundry to promote independence.
• Report progress and concerns to the House Manager and participate in review meetings.

Our ideal DSP candidate will have a strong desire to create long‑term impacts on their individuals lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. Be a part of fostering a true sense of pride in your individual by teaching them to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry. Your work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager who reviews results through living area observation of activities in progress, residents' responsiveness, inspection of living area, reports, and periodic meetings. Make a difference in the life of those you work with to enhance their independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.
