Job summary

Verland seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate care to residents at Locust House in Pittsburgh, PA. This hourly, non-exempt role is full-time (40 hours) with a steady 8am–4pm schedule, Monday–Friday. You will support individuals with complex needs, follow daily plans, assist with meals, and record progress notes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and transfer residents.
• Clean background, physical, and drug screening required.
• Experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support residents in a safe, healthy environment.
• Encourage skill development through active treatment activities.
• Record observations and daily progress notes.
• Assist with meals and housekeeping tasks in the house.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities.
• Bathe, dress, and assist with personal hygiene.
• Medication administration.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities.
