Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health’s The Glenholme School in Washington, CT is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join a cohesive team dedicated to helping children with learning differences and mental health challenges.

The role involves supporting up to 12 adolescents in a boarding setting, promoting independence through activities of daily living, and applying PBIS-based behavior management. A High School Diploma, 21+ years of age, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Care for a group of up to 12 adolescents in a boarding setting.
• Maintain accountability for all students at all times.
• Teach and coach activities of daily living (showering, teeth-brushing, chores, room cleanliness).
• Facilitate activities and implement instruction tailored to each child’s development.
• Manage behavioral incidents using PBIS and token economy.
• Communicate pertinent information to supervisors, clinicians, nurses, etc.
• Document shift happenings at shift end.
• Promote campus values of fairness, honesty, respect, responsibility and kindness.
