Job summary

The Glenholme School in Washington, CT, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, seeks a Director of Education (Principal) to lead programs for children with learning differences and behavioral challenges, coordinating academics, discipline, and student success.

The candidate should hold CT Intermediate and Administration and Supervision Certification, a Degree in Special Education, and a Master’s in Leadership and Supervision, with an endorsement in a relevant area to support school

Qualifications

• CT 092 Intermediate and Administration and Supervision Certification
• Degree in Special Education
• Master’s degree in Leadership and Supervision
• One of the endorsement areas: Comprehensive special education (CT 065 or 165), a specific area of disability, or an area of pupil personnel services

Responsibilities

• Coordinate student academic, motivational and disciplinary activities.
• Administer federal grant program activities.
• Create systems to ensure the integrity of educational information and records.
• Program within budgetary constraints.
• Keep the building safe and secure.
• Advance the organization’s reputation through participation in professional groups.
