The Arc Eastern Connecticut is seeking a Direct Support Professional (Part-time) in Dayville, CT. You will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with daily living, health, rights, and community participation.

Responsibilities include training, documentation, medication administration under physician orders, and transportation to activities. The role offers weekend and evening hours with opportunities for advancement and benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred.
• Must be able to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Applicants must possess basic computer aptitude and be able to speak/write in English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training, support, and assistance to participants in personal care, recreation and leisure, daily living skills, social skills, health needs, and rights.
• Participate in design and monitoring of individualized support plans.
• Accurately administer prescribed medications as ordered by physicians.
• Complete required documentation including program data, incident reports, daily logs, progress notes, and health records.
• Maintain participants’ health and safety and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Provide transportation to activities and prepare meals per menus.
