Job summary

The Arc Eastern Connecticut is recruiting Direct Support Professionals in Norwich, CT. The role involves delivering training and support to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including daily living skills, health needs, and community integration.

Responsibilities include administering medications, documentation, ensuring safety, transportation to activities, and meal preparation.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred.
• Must be able to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training, support, and assistance in personal care, recreation, daily living skills, social skills, health needs, and rights.
• Administer prescribed medications as ordered by physicians and complete required documentation.
• Ensure health and safety, perform CPR and First Aid, and evacuate participants in emergencies.
• Provide transportation to activities and prepare participant meals following menus.
