Job summary

At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH) Health, a Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides in-home and community support to individuals with IDD. The role includes assisting with daily tasks, meal prep, personal care, and transportation, with part-time afternoon shifts in Elizabeth City, NC and surrounding areas.

You’ll document care in the electronic health system, coordinate schedules, and support families, while benefiting from paid training and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety knowledge expected.
• Strong interpersonal, detail-oriented and dependable traits.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in clients' homes and communities.
• Assist with daily tasks, meal prep, housekeeping, and personal care.
• Safely transport clients to appointments and run errands.
• Document daily activities in the electronic health record.
• Help plan and organize clients' schedules.
