Job summary

The Arc Montgomery County is hiring a Part Time Direct Support Professional to provide support, guidance, and supervision for individuals living in their own homes in the Derwood/Silver Spring area. You will help clients maximize life skills while promoting inclusion within the community.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid US driver's license, and the ability to pass a basic English/math test.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency, or at least 18 years of age with one year of experience.
• Valid US driver's license.
• Must pass Maryland Board of Nurses English math/reading test.
• Effective verbal & written communication and computer skills
• Ability to read and write fluently in English
• Ability to assist people with activities of daily living
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods

Responsibilities

• Provide support, guidance and supervision to people living in their own homes/apartments.
• Maximize life skills and promote community inclusion per individual plans.
• Assist with activities of daily living and ensure safety and well-being.
• Follow service funding plans and maintain documentation as required.
