Job summary

Gallagher Services, a Catholic Charities program in Maryland, seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental disabilities. The role focuses on meaningful daily activities, independence, and person-centered care, including personal care and community participation.

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 8 AM - 8 PM. Compensation ranges from $20 to $23.50 per hour, depending on experience and certifications. Join a team dedicated to dignity, respect, and trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines to promote dignity, independence, and choice.
• Assist with meals and encourage healthy eating while maintaining a clean kitchen.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speech.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build confidence.

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 8 AM - 8 PM.

• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support
