Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You’ll help with daily living activities, nutrition, personal care, and advocacy in a compassionate, trauma-informed environment.

The role emphasizes building genuine relationships, supporting independence, and ensuring safety while promoting dignity and respect. Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 11 PM–9 AM, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily care and routines to promote dignity, independence, and choice.
• Prepare nutritious meals and support with personal care.
• Be patient, respectful, and communicative to build meaningful connections.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support.

PAY RANGE: $20 - $23.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience and certifications)

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday 11 PM - 9 AM

A Day in the Life:

You’ll spend your days assisting with care to a group of people who enjoy:

• Doing puzzles


• Going to the Park and walking trails


• Doing Arts and Crafts


• Going to the movies


• Going Shopping

How You’ll Support:

• Help by cooking nutritional meals


• Support with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.


• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking


• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self


• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support
