Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help adults with developmental disabilities live meaningful, independent lives. The role emphasizes building relationships, supporting daily activities, and promoting dignity and choice.

The DSP will work Saturdays and Sundays from 12 PM to 10 PM, assisting with daily routines, meals, and personal care while advocating for residents' rights and independence.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care to promote dignity and independence.
• Assist with meal preparation and encourage healthy eating; maintain a clean, comfortable kitchen.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build confidence and self-esteem.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support.

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule:

Saturday and Sunday 12 PM - 10 PM
