Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore in Timonium, MD is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help adults with developmental disabilities live meaningful, independent lives. You’ll build trusted relationships and provide personalized support that honors each person’s strengths, choices, and goals.

The DSP role centers on care, advocacy and community involvement. The weekend shift (Sat-Sun 7 AM–3 PM) offers hands-on care in a warm, trauma-informed environment, with opportunities to celebrate

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Provide full support with daily routines such as total hygiene care, cooking, cleaning, laundry, housekeeping, transporting to and from day programs and appointments.
• Help promote independence.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support.

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule:

Saturday and Sunday 7 AM - 3 PM
