Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network in Monterey Park, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional for part-time weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 2pm-10pm). The role supports individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting health and safety and advocating for quality of life.

Responsibilities include planning daily routines, assisting with activities of daily living, meals, and transportation when needed. A 1 year commitment with First Aid/CPR and CPI preferred, valid CA driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• First Aid/CPR and CPI training preferred or willing to obtain.
• Must be at least 21 years old; California driver's license required.

• Plan and implement daily routines for clients as documented in the Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs and maintain dignity.
• Help with clothing changes when needed and assist with meals.
• Transport clients in company vans to home or facility when required.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

TheDirect Support Professionalsupports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• 1 Year of experience working closely with individuals that have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Experience with high behaviors a plus.
• First Aid/CPR and CPI -Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
