Job summary

Wendell Foster is hiring Direct Support Professionals to join our Intermediate Care Facility team in Owensboro, KY. You will help individuals with daily living activities, mobility, meals, and safety in a supportive, respectful environment.

We offer a starting hourly rate of $16.00, paid time off, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 403(b) retirement plan after eligibility. Training is provided and growth opportunities exist within a values-driven workplace.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Current first aid and CPR certification (training provided).
• Strong communication with staff and individuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with dressing, bathing, hygiene and toiletries.
• Support mobility including walking and wheelchair transfers.
• Assist with meals as per dietary plan and ensure safety at all times.
• Lift up to 50lbs frequently and up to 75lbs occasionally during care.

Essential Functions:

Support our individuals direct care needs including, but not limited to:

• Getting dressed, assisting with baths and showering, toileting and hygiene needs, feeding, Assist with walking and/or wheelchair mobility, occasionally preparing meals and snacks per dietary card
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Understand individual’s rights and display respect and dignity when interacting with individuals.
• Frequently lift and/or move 50lbs; occasionally lift and/or move 75lbs while assisting a person with movement or direct care
