Job summary

Serenity NJ is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes and communities across New Jersey. The role offers full-time, part-time, and per diem options with pay ranging from $21.50 to $26.50 per hour.

Responsibilities include aiding daily living tasks, coordinating transportation, and documenting care per individualized plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to pass required background checks and screenings.
• Smartphone or computer access for documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience with I/DD is preferred but not required; CPR/First Aid training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Support community activities, appointments, errands, and social opportunities
• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping
• Assist with personal care and medication reminders as authorized
• Provide safe transportation
• Follow individualized service plans and person-centered goals
• Complete timely service notes and required documentation
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and self-advocacy
