Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is a nonprofit delivering disability and behavioral health support in North Carolina. The Direct Support Professional helps individuals with IDD or mental health needs live dignified lives in family-like settings, supporting daily living, health care, and social engagement.

You will document activities in the electronic health record, participate in required trainings, and maintain a valid driver’s license and background check clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 1 year of direct care experience preferred (IDD/MH).
• Must complete and maintain our training curriculum including CPR/First Aid, crisis intervention, medication administration, OSHABBP, seizure management.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home and community settings for individuals with IDD or MH challenges.
• Assist with daily living tasks, personal care, and community engagement.
• Complete daily documentation and reporting in the health system.
