Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, seeks Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Whitten Regional Center in Clinton, SC.

You will help provide daily living support, ensure safety, transport clients to appointments, and participate in an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills including Therap and SCEIS Central.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as entry-level direct support professional.
• Ensure health and safety of each consumer following BSP and protocols.
• Transport and supervise consumers to off-campus appointments and activities.
• Engage consumers in daily living activities and group activities.
• Complete data collection and maintain documentation as required.
• Report significant events and suspected abuse promptly.
