Job summary

State of South Carolina BHDD-OIDD seeks Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role emphasizes safety, daily living support, and teamwork within the Midlands Regional Center in Columbia, SC.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of relevant experience, plus knowledge of Therap and SCEIS Central; valid driver’s license is required. A sign-on bonus and possible overtime support are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of experience with individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of Therap and SCEIS Central for time and leave purposes.
• Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations and basic safety practices.
• A valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety of each consumer per BSP, dining, lifting protocols and support plans.
• Provide guidance to entry-level staff and supervise overtime as needed for consumer safety.
• Transport and monitor consumers to and from appointments and activities.
• Engage in daily living activities and group activities as outlined in the support plan.
• Document data and participate in team meetings and reviews.
