Resources for Human Development (RHD) is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide compassionate, person-centered care in a residential setting. You’ll support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assist with daily living tasks, and help them pursue independence.

This full-time role includes paid training, opportunities across multiple service lines, and programs designed to develop skills and advance your career within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification if not currently certified.
• Ability to pass state and Federal criminal background checks, drug screening, pre-employment physical and PPD.
• Preferred: experience in direct support, caregiving, healthcare, or related field; additional education in human services, healthcare, education, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when needed.
• Supporting daily living skills and independence.
• Assisting with appointments, community outings, and recreational activities.
• Providing companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
• Following individualized support plans and goals.
• Promoting dignity, respect, and person-centered care.
