Indera is hiring a Direct Support Professional for Pulaski, NY. This in-person role supports a 56-year-old woman in daily living, community engagement, and skill-building, up to 23 hours per week at $19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in direct support or caregiving preferred.
• Excellent communication with individuals and families.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Pass background checks as required by state regulations.

The position is flexible, up to 23 hours a week and the pay is $19.00. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide high-quality care, mentorship, and assistance, fostering independence and helping him achieve his personal goals both at home and in the community.About the Individual· Age: 56 years old female· Bright, friendly and caring· Enjoys baking and doing crafts· Wants to get out in the community· Values kindness, caring, and meaningful connectionsKey Responsibilities· Provide compassionate and respectful support in daily living activities at home and in the community· Mentor to teach Positive Communication Skills, Assist Person To Participate In Hobby, Club Or Class Of Interest and assist with paperwork.· Encourage and facilitate active participation in community outings and recreational activities· Promote independence and self-confidence through personalized care and goal-setting· Ensure a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment at all times· Support the individual in achieving personal milestones and fostering a sense of belonging· Empowering Individuals: Support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.· Facilitating Daily Life: Assist with a variety of daily living tasks tailored to the individual's specific needs,· Encouraging Life Skills: Teach and promote the development of new life skills such as cooking, gardening, and social interaction. Encourage participation in outdoor activities and help foster community engagement.· Documenting Progress: Maintain accurate, detailed records of daily activities and progress toward individual goals.Qualifications· Previous experience in direct support or caregiving roles is preferred but not required.· Familiarity with, and experience working with, individuals with developmental disabilities a plus· Excellent communication skills for positive interactions with individuals, their families, and team members.· Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in helping others reach their highest potential.· Ability to pass background checks as required by state regulations.Must have a valid driver's licenseMust be at least 18 years oldEffective communication and organizational skills required.Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
