Job summary

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist a young man in the Cicero area, helping him maintain independence at home and in community settings.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, patient, energetic and enthusiastic, with a valid driver's license and HS diploma/GED. Hours vary, typically Monday–Friday with potential Saturdays, up to 15 hours weekly, and background checks will be conducted prior to hire.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire.
• Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with taking the individual out to explore interests and supporting independence.
• Provide home and community-based support to promote the individual's independence.
• Schedule may vary: Monday–Friday, possibly Saturday; up to 15 hours per week.

The family is looking for a dedicated staff to provide him with support and assist him with maintaining his independence both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with taking individual out to explore interests, and general independence.We are looking for an individual who is reliable, patient, energetic and enthusiastic. Prior experience is a plus but not required. Reliable transportation and an HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.Work hours will vary depending on individuals works schedule but will be Monday-Friday and possibly a Saturday (periodic). Maximum number of hours per week will be 15 hours. Services will be provided either mornings or afternoons (again based on work scheduled). The pay rate is $30 per hour.
