Job summary

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist a young man with developmental delay in the Cicero area. You will help promote independence at home and in community settings, taking him out to explore interests and support daily activities.

Reliable transportation, an HS diploma or GED, and a willingness to adapt to a varied schedule (M–F, possible Saturdays) are required. Background checks will be conducted prior to hire.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with taking individual out to explore interests.
• Support independence at home and in community settings.
• Provide consistent, reliable assistance to the young man according to his needs.
• Adapt to varying schedules; work Monday–Friday and possibly Saturdays (15 hours/week max).
• Ensure safety and promote dignity and independence during activities.

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in the Cicero area with a young man who requires assistance due to a developmental delay. The family is looking for a dedicated staff to provide him with support and assist him with maintaining his independence both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with taking individual out to explore interests, and general independence.

We are looking for an individual who is reliable, patient, energetic and enthusiastic. Prior experience is a plus but not required. Reliable transportation and an HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.

Work hours will vary depending on individuals works schedule but will be Monday-Friday and possibly a Saturday (periodic). Maximum number of hours per week will be 15 hours. Services will be provided either mornings or afternoons (again based on work scheduled). The pay rate is $30 per hour.
