Job summary

Indera seeks a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with an active young man in Jamesville, helping him build independent living skills, manage money and household tasks, and accompany him to social, recreational, and YMCA activities in the community. The role requires reliability, enthusiasm, creativity, and effective communication.

Hours are daytime and weekday-focused, up to 30 hours weekly, with occasional evenings or weekends; salary $22 per hour; a valid NYS driver’s license

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid NYS driver’s license required.
• Reliable transportation and own vehicle may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help the individual learn independent living skills, including money and household management.
• Accompany him to social, recreational, and physical fitness activities in the community, including YMCA outings.
• Be reliable, enthusiastic, creative, and effective in communication to support independence.

He recently finished attending Inclusive U and would like to begin preparing for living independently in the future. In this role, you will help him learn and strengthen independent living skills including money and household management skills so that he can achieve this goal. In addition, you would accompany him to social, recreational, and physical fitness activities in the community. He is seeking someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, creative, and active.Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. It would generally be daytime, weekday hours, but could include some evenings or weekends for activities.
