Job summary

Challenge Unlimited Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Residential Options in Belleville, IL. The DSP supports residents with daily living tasks and helps them reach life goals in a home-like setting.

The role is part-time with shifts 3:00pm-11:00pm and 8:00am-4:00pm on weekends with mandatory overtime. Requires High School Diploma, background checks, driver's license, and CPR/First Aid training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Pass a criminal/child abuse & neglect background check.
• Motor Vehicle background check.
• Experience with people with DD or MI is helpful but not required.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• CPR, First Aid, CPI and DSP training provided by the company must be completed within the first 4 months and annually thereafter to be certified and maintain position.
• Able to use a computer.
• Must pass state required CASAS 8th grade literacy assessment prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Train, supervise, and assist Residents on ADL tasks.
• Assist with bathing, hygiene, and toileting; maintain safe living environment.
• Provide active treatment services per Resident’s plan.
• Ensure adherence to daily activity schedules.
• Document services, progress, and incidents in Resident files.
