Job summary

Challenge Unlimited, Inc in Illinois is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to empower individuals with disabilities in residential settings. No experience needed; paid training is provided. Openings include 1 full-time (4–5 shifts/week) and 1 part-time (2–3 shifts/week).

Shift options include evenings (2pm-10pm or 3pm-11pm) and part-time flex schedules. Salary is $19.75 per hour with benefits; locations in Alton and Godfrey, IL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a child abuse & neglect background check.
• Must pass a motor vehicle background check.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass state required CASAS literacy assessment prior to employment.
• CPR, 1st Aid, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Med Passing and DSP training provided by the company must be completed within 4 months and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs including personal care, bathing, dressing, toileting, meals, housekeeping and laundry.
• Support residents with medication administration and monitor health and safety.
• Maintain a safe living/work environment and perform related tasks.
• Provide transportation to appointments, shopping, and community events.
• Foster a safe, welcoming home-like environment and provide emotional support.
• Document services, resident progress, incidents, and health information accurately.
