Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Wilson, NC. You will assist individuals with IDD in completing daily living tasks and achieving personal goals, with a weekend overnight schedule.

compensation is $15.00 per hour. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and reliable transportation; experience with EHR is a plus and on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition and safety knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal skills and reliability.
• Technology: able to learn EHR or similar systems.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily tasks such as housekeeping, meal prep, cooking and cleaning.
• Provide personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, toileting and diaper changes.
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client’s daily schedule.
• Document and report activities in the electronic health record.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Location: Wilson, North Carolina

Compensation: $15.00/hour

Schedule

Weekend Shift - Saturday starting at 6:00 am until Monday at 6:00 am, every other weekend. Required to stay overnight.

Your Role in Our Mission

• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; as well as employment support.
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
