Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health, based in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with IDD in a group home setting. This full-time role covers Saturdays and Sundays from 8 AM to 8 PM, with local travel as needed, and compensation at $15.00/hour.

Responsibilities include home-based care, daily living tasks, schedule management, transportation support, and documentation in the EHR system.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal, detail-oriented, and dependable traits a must.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn quickly.
• Reliable transportation and current auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home and community where the person lives.
• Assist with daily tasks: housekeeping, meal prep, cooking, cleaning; personal care like bathing and dressing; employment support.
• May transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize the client’s schedule.
• Document and report daily in the electronic health record system.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals living in our group home in Raleigh, NC.

Position details: Full-time: Saturday and Sunday 8AM-8PM
Location: Raleigh, NC, with regular local community travel
Compensation: $15.00/hour

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
