Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Wilson, NC for part-time day and after-school hours. You will assist individuals with IDD in daily living tasks, provide personal care, and support community integration.

Responsibilities include home/community-based care, scheduling, and documentation in an electronic health record system. Training is provided; valid driver’s license and transportation are required. Eligible for benefits for part-time roles.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position; on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols knowledge.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying outthat mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Position details: Part‑time day and after‑school/afternoon hours, Mon‑Fri; weekend shifts
Location: Wilson, NC, and surrounding areas with regular local community travel
Compensation: $15.00/hour

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; as well as employment support.
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
