Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with IDD in their homes and communities. You will help with daily tasks, transportation, scheduling, and documentation, with an overnight rotation during shifts.

Part-time role offering $15.00 per hour, with paid training in CPR/first aid, and opportunities for growth. Flexible weekends and supportive team environment emphasize empathy, safety, and independence for the people we serve.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Entry-level, on-the-job training is provided.
• Basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols are expected.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are essential.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn quickly; reliable transportation with valid license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; and employment support.
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.

At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), our mission is rooted in empowering individuals and strengthening communities. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying outthat mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Compensation: $15.00/hour

Schedule: PART-TIME – Saturday 7am to Monday 10am, alternating weekends on and off

Overnight stay is required during the rotation, but staff is off-duty and asleep for the night hours unless there is an emergency.

Your Role in Our Mission

You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.

• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; as well as employment support.
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Dailydocumentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
