Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Wake Forest, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with IDD complete daily living tasks and reach their goals.

This part-time role offers after-school hours and weekends, with regular local travel and compensation of $15.00 per hour. You will assist with home and community-based care, daily tasks, transportation, scheduling, and documentation in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety knowledge expected.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficient with electronic health records or willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide in‑home and community-based care for individuals with IDD.
• Assist with daily tasks: housekeeping, meals, bathing, dressing, and transportation to appointments.
• Plan and organize daily schedule and activities.
• Document and report daily in the electronic health record.

Compensation:

$15.00/hour

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
