Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for part-time, after school hours and weekends in Smithfield, NC. You will help individuals with IDD achieve daily living goals in home and community settings.

Responsibilities include personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, transportation, scheduling, and daily EHR documentation. Entry-level with on-the-job training; reliable transport required.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or the ability to learn.
• Reliable transportation and current auto insurance required.

As aDirect Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying outthat mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Position details: Part-time; after school hours and weekends
Location: Smithfield, NC, with regular local community travel
Compensation: $18.00/hour

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
