Job summary

The Arc Of Opportunity is hiring Direct Support Professionals in Rutland, MA to help individuals with developmental disabilities lead fuller lives. The position offers hourly pay with MAP Certification affecting the rate, and a schedule that covers weekend and early shifts.

As a DSP, you will advocate for individuals, support daily living activities, and help implement individualized plans while driving a company van when needed. Training, benefits, and growth opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active and valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sustain long periods of sitting or standing.
• Ability to assist in restraining if needed.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively advocate for individuals served, reflecting the Agency’s values in all interactions.
• Leverage your knowledge and community interests to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life.
• Implement Individual Service Plans.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household tasks and chores.
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van.
• Present yourself in a respectful and professional manner in all interactions.
• Attend trainings and implement knowledge in your work.
• Communicate effectively, whether orally or in writing.
