The Arc of Opportunity is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for a full-time, 32-hour weekly schedule in Spencer, Massachusetts. DSPs will support individuals with developmental disabilities, implement service plans, and promote independence, including driving the agency van where needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist in restraint if needed.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health is preferred.

• Empower individuals by leveraging community knowledge to improve quality of life.
• Implement Individual Service Plans.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living and household tasks.
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the agency van.

• Attend trainings and apply knowledge on the job.
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
