Job summary

Verland is currently seeking a Direct Support Professional to join the team at our ORC House in Natrona Heights, PA. This role provides Exceptional Care to residents with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges in an hourly, non-exempt capacity.

The position offers 40 hours per week, a $2,000 sign-on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 403b with company match, tuition reimbursement, PTO, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and transfer residents as needed.
• Must pass Background, Physical, and Drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care and ongoing support for residents with complex needs.
• Assist with meals, daily living activities, and personal hygiene.
• Record observations and progress notes; participate in activity planning.
• Transport clients using Verland vehicles and accompany to appointments.
• Maintain a safe, healthy environment and assist with housekeeping as needed.
• Support residents in social, home, and recreational activities.

Verland is currently seeking a Direct Support Professional to join the team at our ORC House in Natrona Heights, PA. In this crucial role, you will be providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.

Shifts Available

Full Time- 40 hours

• Week 1: 6:30am - 3pm: Monday thru Thursday and Saturday
• Week 2: 6:30am - 3pm: Sunday, Tuesday thru Friday

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for individualized care and ongoing support for people in our community with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Contributions

• Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record all observations and daily progress notes.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
• Housekeeping duties as needed
• Other duties as assigned

2 weeks paid training provided by Verland, to educate new hires on daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene skills, along with each individual's support plan/ personal development goals that are essential to improve the daily lives of the individuals that we serve. Completion of training is required at the start of employment.
