Job summary

Abound Health in Boone, NC is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. The role involves assisting with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to help clients live independently.

If you are compassionate and reliable, we’d love to meet you! Starting pay ranges from $16 to $19 per hour with a $1,000 signing bonus paid over the year, contingent on averaging 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal and driving record checks and healthcare registry.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required depending on client needs.
• Paid training provided; prior experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal prep, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Flexible schedules (full-time and part-time).
