Job summary

Help at Home is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide one‑on‑one, in‑home support for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will teach daily living skills, promote independence, and help participants engage with their communities in a dignified, person‑centered manner.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a background check and required training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance.
• Ability to work safely and respectfully in individuals’ homes and communities.
• Compassion, reliability, and a desire to make a positive impact.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals develop daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and other personal care activities.
• Provide hands‑on assistance based on individual needs while encouraging independence.
• Provide transportation and support participation in shopping, social events, and community activities.
• Help individuals work toward personal goals and recognize their progress.
• Promote personal choice, independence, and self-advocacy.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care, activities, and progress.
• Communicate with team members to ensure consistent, quality support.
