Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD in Somerset, NJ. As a DSP, you will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

Starting pay ranges from $23/hour to $33/hour for acuity, plus a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments. Flexible schedules, weekly pay, paid training, and opportunities for growth are offered to support a meaningful

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required – we provide paid training and support.

Responsibilities

• Building positive relationships and supporting individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assisting with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Supporting individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Using adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encouraging independence and helping individuals develop new skills.
• Monitoring health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicating with Abound team members, families, and external parties as needed.
• Completing documentation and maintaining schedules.
• Completing ongoing training and professional development.
