Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Matthews, NC to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. The DSP assists with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to help clients live independently.

Starting pay is $15.40–$17/hour with a $1,000 signing bonus and paid onboarding and training. Flexible schedules include full-time and part-time opportunities, weekly pay, and growth opportunities within a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal background check, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required—paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Complete documentation and maintaining schedules.
• Complete ongoing training and professional development.
