Job summary

Help At Home, LLC in Picayune, MS is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live as independently as possible in their homes and communities.

As a DSP, you will teach daily living skills, promote participation in community activities, and support personal goals with dignity and self-advocacy. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a background check and required training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance, either primary or secondary coverage.
• Ability to work safely and respectfully in individuals’ homes and communities.
• Compassion, reliability, and a desire to make a positive impact.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals develop daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and other personal care activities.
• Provide hands-on assistance based on individual needs while encouraging independence.
• Provide transportation and support participation in shopping, social events, and community activities.
• Help individuals work toward personal goals and recognize their progress.
• Promote personal choice, independence, and self-advocacy.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care, activities, and progress.
• Communicate with team members to ensure consistent, quality support.
