Job summary

Gateways to Change, Inc. in Rhode Island seeks Direct Support Workers to provide in-home and community-based support, helping individuals acquire daily living and social skills. You will assist with daily activities, transportation, and community involvement.

The role includes supporting personal care, administering medications as needed, and building safe, respectful relationships with clients. We welcome applicants who can work independently or with staff across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and current insurance.
• Background check with no disqualifying offenses required.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide In-Home and Community Based support to individuals.
• Assist individuals with achieving goals in home and local community.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, shopping, and recreation.
• Assist in toileting, dressing, and hygiene.
• Administration of medication as directed.
• Cultivate safe and supportive relationships.
• Be creative, organized, and efficient in job tasks.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment and work with staff or independently.
