Job summary

Gateways to Change, Inc. in Rhode Island is seeking Direct Support Workers to assist adults with developmental and physical disabilities in home and community settings.

You will help individuals acquire daily living skills, accompany them to appointments and activities, and support their health, safety, and independence.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
• Background check with no disqualifying offenses.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home and community-based support to individuals.
• Assist individuals in achieving goals at home and in the local community.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, shopping, and recreation.
• Assist in toileting, dressing, and hygiene.
• Administer medication.
• Cultivate safe and supportive relationships.

We are looking for a dedicated and committed Direct Support Workers who are striving to make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. Help individuals acquire and maintain skills to improve their daily-living, and socialization skills.

• Provide In-Home and Community Based support to individuals
• Assist individuals with achieving a variety of goals in the home and local community
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, personal shopping, and recreation activities
• Assist in toileting, dressing, and hygiene
• Administration of medication
• Cultivate safe and supportive relationships
• Be creative, organized, and efficient
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and bring fun to the job
• Working independently and with staff

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a valid driver's license and existing insurance, registrations & inspection
• Must provide a criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
