Job description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities by providing compassionate and personalized care. This position involves supporting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and fostering community integration. The DSP collaborates closely with families, healthcare providers, and other team members to develop and implement individualized support plans. Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety standards related to client care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a caregiving role.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Training in behavior management techniques (PMT).
  • Post-secondary education in human services, social work, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
