Job summary

Humanim seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with disabilities in learning, growth, and greater independence. You will support daily living activities, accompany clients to appointments, and promote health, safety, and well‑being within inclusive community settings.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the role emphasizes advocacy and person‑centered planning, collaborating with staff and family to help clients achieve meaningful outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• MD driver’s license with fewer than 5 points and valid auto insurance required.
• Minimum 2 years of driving experience.
• CPR/First Aid training required.
• Ability to relate well to staff, individuals, board members, and all relevant stakeholders of different races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, socio-economic backgrounds, and religions required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with disabilities to learn, grow and become more independent.
• Help with basic housekeeping tasks and transportation to appointments or social outings.
• Assist in implementing safety precautions learned in their environments.
