Job summary

Humanim is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with disabilities learn, grow and gain independence, reporting to the Program Manager. The role emphasizes health, safety, advocacy, and person-centered supports to promote quality of life.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily tasks, transporting clients to appointments, and applying safety plans in their environment while collaborating with staff and stakeholders to achieve each person's goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• MD driver's license with fewer than 5 points and valid auto insurance required.
• Minimum 2 years of driving experience.
• CPR/First Aid training required.
• Ability to relate well to staff, individuals, board members, and all relevant stakeholders of different races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and religions required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Support Professional assists individuals with disabilities to learn, grow and become more independent.
• Promotes health, safety, and well-being; advocates for clients' needs and goals.
• Helps with basic housekeeping tasks and transportation to appointments and social outings.
• Communicates clients' needs and goals to the program team and stakeholders.
