Job summary

Whole Life seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals in Connecticut to provide person‑centered care to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities. DSPs support daily living activities, promote independence, and help clients engage in community activities with dignity and safety.

The role involves building trusting relationships, following individualized care plans, and collaborating with managers, providers and families to empower clients to reach personal goals.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proof of valid driver's license, Social Security card, birth certificate, or passport.
• Ability to pass a Background Check, safe driving record, and Abuse Registry Check; post-hire Fit for Duty and TB test within 30 days.
• Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal prep.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote independence.
• Document daily activities, observations and incidents; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
