Job summary

YAI seeks Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home, work, community, and daily life settings. Under supervision of the Program Supervisor, DSPs assist with activities of daily living, including intimate care, teach daily living skills, provide individual and group counseling, and promote community integration.

• Assists individuals to maximize strengths, interests, and abilities while upholding personal rights and providing emotional support.
• Supports people to meet personal goals, encourages socialization, and facilitates community connections.
• Maintains supervision, protection, and care of individuals according to program guidelines and fire safety training.
• Ensures health, wellness and safety through appropriate supervision and crisis management.
• Provides support per individualized service and behavior plans (ISPs/BSPs) across varying needs.
• Applies safe handling procedures and infection control practices.
